The SortAction rebuilds the input URL and returns a ForwardAction object for that URL. When working with tiles the SortAction will remove any parameters in the URL that follow the "?" sign. However, the SortAction class assumes that the Tile name will always include the "." character. If a tile name does not include ".", the SortAction will not remove the parameters after the "?" sign in the URL (SortAction Line 56). This will cause the sorting to fail. (I have a number of tiles in my application with no "." character in the name)

I have fixed this problem by extending the SortUtil and overriding the method sort. The sort method will strip the URL from any values that follow the "?" sign without paying any attention to the existence of the "." character. The solution works for my application.

A final solution should update the SortAction class.
